Albany-- Opening day for a downtown park to honor Ray Charles will be a little later than expected.
Construction is coming along on the more than $2-million Ray Charles Plaza across from the Hilton Garden Inn. Albany Tomorrow leaders hoped it would be ready to open by Ray Charles' birthday, September 23rd.
Construction started a little later than expected. Now, ATI says it should be open by mid-October.
