Moultrie -- The 2007 Sunbelt Expo already has some new additions in the works for its upcoming 30th anniversary.

Today ground was broken for two ponds that will serve as aquaculture exhibits during the 3-day exposition.

Experts say aquaculture growth is economically essential for the American farming industry.

"Seventy percent of the fish we eat are imported. This means the more we produce domestically, the better off we are in our balance of trade,"  Sunbelt Expo Executive Board Member Dr. Bill Jensen said Tuesday.

Jensen says experts from five universities will be on hand at the 2007 exposition providing their expertise on new trends in aquaculture. Aquaculture is a $10 billion a year industry.
