July 10, 2007 Albany -- A popular Albany restaurant, open for more than half a century, is temporarily shut-down.
Heavy rains and winds Saturday caused a partial roof collapse at the Quickie Restaurant on North Slappey.
Although the restaurant is closed for repairs, owner Mike Woodward says they plan to re-open soon.
"We're not closing, mother nature stepped in for a little while so we're going to do our thing and let the roofers come in and fix what they need to fix up, but we will be back," said Woodward.
Woodward hopes it will take no longer than three weeks to repair the damage. A structural engineer will survey the damage Wednesday.
