New Albany restaurant officially open

July 9, 2007

Albany--  Get ready to mellow out at a new restaurant in Albany.

The Mellow Mushroom officially opened at 5 Monday afternoon.  People filled the restaurant for the grand opening. It's a project that has been in the making for more than two years.

Owner Bobby Valentino is proud to bring South Georgians a new, upbeat place to enjoy dining out.

"We have a full bar with 24 beers on tap. We also on the menu have calzones, grilled hoagies and salads and the average pie takes about 15 minutes to cook so it's not just a cookie cutter type of operation. They're all made to order," said Valentino.

The Mellow Mushroom is located at the corner of Ledo and Nottingham. It's one of the chain's largest locations and one of the few free-standing Mellow Mushroom's in the country.
