Authorities conduct investigation at Dawson home

July 9, 2007

Dawson--  We're following a developing story out of Terrell County. Investigators raided a home in Dawson.

Officials from several agencies have been on the scene for several hours. So far law enforcement is being tight-lipped about the situation. Law enforcement from the Dawson Police Department, the Terrell County Sheriff's Office and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation were all on the scene.

It's not clear exactly what they were looking for at a home at the corner of Cinderella Lane Southeast and First Avenue Southeast. At one point GBI investigators were using a flashlight to look through a pickup truck parked in front of the home. Shortly after, we saw two men being taken into custody by the Sheriff's Office.

Terrell County Sheriff John Bowen along with Dawson Police Chief Charlie Whitehead were both on the scene tonight.  They said the GBI is handling the case but no one from the GBI released any information prior to this report.

Investigators have busted several marijuana grow houses recently, one in Albany, two in Lee County and one in Terrell County.  It's not clear if this was one of them.
