Valdosta - The Red Cross in Valdosta says those in need of blood may be out of luck as the state is critically low in their blood supply.
The Valdosta Red Cross office says they see about seven donors a day and to fill the need in the area they need at least 25.
Low turnouts like this at all locations led the shortage.
But Michael Luke, a 30 year blood donor, says the small inconvenience is worth it. "When you are giving blood you are giving life. Its very important to give blood. I've done this for many years and never once regretted it."
The summer months and holidays are when donated blood is in high demand.
