Lee County -- Fireworks sales in South Georgia are picking up as the Fourth of July approaches.

At the TNT Fireworks sales tent in the Wal-Mart parking lot in Lee County, thousands of sparklers of all kinds and sizes are in stock.

Managers say sales are brisk, and they expect to get even busier the next couple of days. Paula Howard with TNT Fireworks Sales said "people are excited about Georgia having legalized fireworks. This is our third season that we can sell fireworks in Georgia, so we're excited and I think the public is excited also."

Paula Howard says the majority of their fireworks will be sold on the Fourth of July.

They will remain open until ten PM that night. Their sparklers range in cost from less than fifty cents to $300 for combo packages.
