Thomasville -- Former Georgia Tech running back Joe Burns is at his alma mater in Thomasville Saturday, holding a football camp for kids.
Burns was a four-year letter-winner at Thomas County Central, rushing for over 4,500 yards and 56 touchdowns in his final two seasons with the Yellow Jackets.
The Georgia player of the year then moved on to Georgia Tech, before spending the last five seasons in the NFL with the Buffalo Bills.
Burns says Saturday's camp was about football, but he's focused on also bringing in people that can giving the campers lessons in life on a daily basis.
"My whole objective of it, is I want it to be real intimate. It would be easy to get NFL players to come, but I want these kids to have positive people they can see on a day-to-day basis, and actually go and talk to."
Burns is currently back at Georgia Tech, earning his degree, with finals coming up next week.
