Albany - - The owner a now closed bar where a fatal shooting happened last year wants to open another bar in that location.

Albany city commissioners aren't so sure.

Adam Chavez owns the Royal Pool Room building. Earlier this month, 50 year old Charles Gaillard was convicted of murdering a man over a two dollar bet outside the bar.

Chavez says he didn't own the property then and will increase security if commissioners renew a liquor license.

Thursday, commissioners tabled the issue until they find out the details of how the liquor license was transferred when Chavez took ownership of the building.
