Albany -- Two people are injured in the crash that happened about 10:45, and backed up the East bound lanes of the Liberty Bypass.
Police tell us a Ford Bronco was headed East just past the Blaylock Street exit when it crashed, and rolled. Tires were ripped off the SUV, the crash was so violent. The Bronco has Lee County tags.
Two women were in the SUV when it crashed, and both were taken to a local hospital. Police say both are still alive, but they both had injuries.
Just after the crash, traffic was stopped in both directions on the bypass. The West bound lanes was opened soon, but the east bound lanes were blocked almost an hour.
Traffic was detoured down Blaylock Street to Clark Avenue. Traffic was backed up for about half a mile, all the way back to the Flint River.
Albany City commissioners are working to fight crime in their districts and some are seeing success in the new year.
