Albany -- People in Albany's Lake Park neighborhood say they enjoyed a quiet weekend after a controversial bar shut down.
Boxers closed last week. Albany police say they regularly responded to calls at the bar since it opened on Dawson Road.
People who live nearby complained about noise from the club for months. "We are all relieved now. I hate to see anyone go out of business because it happened to me, but we as Lake Park residents were just fed up with the whole thing," said Lake Park resident Rick McDaniel.
The club owner claims police scared customers away because of their close monitoring. She says that hurt her business, and she couldn't afford to stay open.
