Albany -- The budget is three million dollars more than last year's. One of the biggest additions is $800,000 for a partial pay plan implementation, which will bring employees up to their proper pay level, according to a pay study.

Also, eight new positions were created, including spots in the District Attorney's office and clerk of court, and employees will get a pay raise.

"Employee raises, merit and COLA, no increase in insurance premiums and there are some things we were able to do. Hopefully when we get the digest back, things can move along for us to review the Riverquarium and the ATI request," said County Commissioner Lamar Hudgins.

In September, Commissioners will also set the millage rate, and hope to roll it back by at least a half a point.
