Tifton restaurant on robbers' hit list?

June 22, 2007

Tifton -- The Huddle House on Fifth Street in central Tifton has been robbed at gunpoint twice this year, and at least two times last year.

The latest robbery happened Thursday morning at 2:OOAM when robbers showed up with a gun.

"Two males entered the Huddle House armed and ordered the clerk there at the Huddle House to open the register, demanded the money," said Tifton Police Lt. Porter Jackson. "She stepped back, they took the money and left in an unknown direction."

Officers have a suspect in mind for the Huddle House robbery.

Tifton police are also looking into two armed robberies that happened earlier this month in the 700 block of Duggins Street.

They arrested a 15-year-old boy for robbing a man on the street. A similar incident happened here just a few hours later. Officers believe the two robberies are connected.
