Albany  --  Before you head out of town on summer vacation, think about making a stop at the Blood Bank. Just a couple of days into the summer and already the Red Cross is reporting that its supply of blood, especially types O and B, is dangerously low.

Other states are also experiencing shortages and can't share their supplies with Georgia, so donors are desperately needed.

"We're constantly giving it out," said Andrea Tatum of the Red Cross Donor Center. "But we're not replenishing it because people aren't coming in and that's what's causing the shortage."

If you want to stop by before heading out of town Saturday, the Blood donor center on Dawson road will be open from 8AM to 2PM.

If you can't make it then, several blood drives will be held in Albany soon.
