Albany - He has never a played a down Between the Hedges, but his calls of the action between them has made Georgia football announcer Larry Munson a legend among the Bulldog faithful.
The 84-year old Munson says there is 50-50 chance he may have to retire due to his health.
Munson met with Georgia athletic director Damon Evans yesterday to discuss the issue and he says the University is making contigency plans should their beloved announcer not be able to step to the mike.
Longtime Georgia support Dee Matthews is hoping Munson has at least one more season left in his voice.
Dee Matthews "I think it is going to be a great season anyway. But you know I think Munson needs to be a part of it some way and maybe he will decide to stay at least for the home games. He says what really kills him are those back to back long trips."
Georgia will open the season at night on September first against Oklahoma State.
