Albany -- There is a new face and new goals in the United Way of Southwest Georgia. They are getting an early start on this year's campaign. They will be starting this upcoming year with a new Executive Director.

Dwayne Myles is now in position and board members feel he is a perfect fit. Myles' first task is to increase business partnerships in the area.

"Once people see the passion and the commitment of the volunteers and board members we have here; they will jump on board. They will know that we are here in the community to help," Executive Director Dwayne Myles said.

"He's been involved with the local community enough and with non-profits enough and that he is just going be great for this community," Georgia Power area manager Jay Smith said.

The United Way of Southwest Georgia assists 39 programs in the area. They are serving 12 surrounding counties, but are only fund raising in only three.
