Lowndes County - Police have arrested a Valdosta man who they say escaped from a Florida jail and was trying to come back home.
Investigators with the Marion County Sheriff's Office say 37 year-old David Daher walked off from a work detail Tuesday in Ocala, Florida.
They quickly alerted law enforcers in Georgia, who found and arrested Daher in Lowndes County earlier today.
Daher was expected to be released on July 7th.
He had been in jail for eight months on drug related charges.
A jury convicted a Crisp County man on two counts of child molestation Friday. The jury came back with a guilty verdict for Hermenegildo Virgil Friday.
