Albany--  An Albany Police officer with more than ten years of service is behind bars, charged with a sex crime by a prostitute.

36-year-old Sergeant Derrick Cade is an investigator with the Albany Police Department. He was arrested and charged with aggravated sodomy Tuesday night.

Police say they responded to the Townhouse Motel on West Oglethorpe Boulevard a little before 2 Tuesday morning in reference to a rape. After an investigation, it was discovered that Cade used his police vehicle to pick up a 37-year-old prostitute on South Harding Street.  They then traveled to the motel for sex.

Cade is suspended without pay pending further investigation.  He is being held in the Dougherty County jail.  Cade has been with the department for 11 years.
