Valdosta - A Valdosta man is arrested just blocks away from a supermarket that had just been robbed.
Valdosta Police say 19 year-old Omar Thompson walked into the Harvey's supermarket on Bemiss Road just after 9:00 Monday night.
He walked up to a cashier, indicated he had a gun and demanded the money from the register before running from the store.
Police arrested Thompson walking near East Park Avenue and North Lee Street, just a few blocks from the store.
He did not have a gun but police have charged him with armed robbery.
