Bulldog coach makes recruiting easy

June 18, 2007

Valdosta - Kennesaw Mountain tight end Bryce Ros, son of Frank Ros who was the captain of the Georgia's 1980 national championship team, committed to the Bulldogs over the weekend.

Ros is the 15th high school senior who says he is going to sign with Georgia in February.

The man in charge of Georgia's recruiting is Bulldog assistant coach Rodney Garner. G

arner, who has also produced a number of all-pro defensive tackles including Barney's Marcus Stroud, gave the Valdosta Bulldog Club the scouting report for the 2007 season Monday night at Mathis Auditorium.

The big talk this summer has been recruiting with the Bulldogs landing commitments from one blue chip stud after another.

Garner says when Mark Richt is the head coach it is not hard to convince players and their parents that Georgia is the place to go to college.

Rodney Garner said "There is a lot of excitement around the program. There are a lot of kids who want to come play for coach Richt and come to Georgia. The parents would also like their kids to play for coach Richt."

Georgia opens the season at home on September first against Oklahoma State.
