Albany - Some of the top tennis players in south Georgia are ready to do battle this weekend.
The fifth annual Stonebridge Open starts on Friday at the Stonebridge Country Club.
Stonebridge tennis pro Randy Jobson says more than 135 of the top players in south Georgia will be in action for an event that is gaining a reputation as one of the top tournaments in the area.
Jobson says the chance to play new opponents with the same talent level is one of the reasons this tournament appeals to many of the top players in south Georgia and north Florida.
Randy Jobson said "They look forward to seeing who is going to be here this year. Who can they pit against and have a great match. I think it adds a little bit of spice to the tennis in this area."
The Stonebridge Tennis Open starts Friday night and runs through Sunday at the Stonebridge Country Club.
There is no admission charge for spectators.
