Albany --  The Dougherty County Board of Assessors could begin looking at property tax appeals before weeks end.

For the last month, Tyler Technologies has been accepting appeals from property owners who feel their assessed value was incorrect.  Now they're preparing to turn that information over to the Board of Assessors.

The Board could have the information for their board meeting Thursday.

The Board of Assessors will review each appeal where they'll decide to either keep the assigned value, agree with the appeal and change the value, or set another value they feel is fair.

The deadline for the bulk of property owners to file an appeal is just a week away, on June 25th.
