Lowndes County - Folks in the Albany area weren't the only ones to receive some relief from above.

Thunderstorms rolled into Lowndes County Tuesday morning and brought heavy rain and wind gusts up to 60 miles per hour.

Lightning also hit a Georgia Power substation near Hahira, causing power outages for nearly 7,000 customers between Lowndes County and Albany.

A little more than two inches of rain fell in the drought stricken area.

And with the fires still raging in neighboring counties, more is still needed.

Foresters in Ware and Charleton Counties will have a better idea tomorrow whether the rain helped.
