Murder trial continues

June 8, 2007

Albany --  Testimony continued late into the afternoon Friday in an Albany murder trial.

Prosecutors say 49-year-old Charles Gaillard shot Richard Hardwick between the eyes with a 22-caliber pistol September 10th outside a pool hall on East Broad Avenue.

Gaillard's lawyer said the argument was over a two-dollar bet that Hardwick lost and refused to pay.

Gaillard claims it was self defense.

The trial began Thursday and was still continuing late this afternoon. Judge Willie Lockette has not announced if the trial will continue Saturday or resume Monday.
