Jackson back and ready to continue his streak

 June 7, 2007

Albany - The top two ranked teams in the Arena 2 Football League will square off.

South Georgia Wildcats are the number two team in the latest league coaches poll and naturally unbeaten Wilkes-Barre Scranton is number one.

One of the keys for a Wildcat victory is for the South Georgia defense to continue its trend of intercepting passes.

The Cats have 16 picks this season with defensive back Matt Jackson among the team leaders with four.

That is four interceptions in the four games he has played with the Wildcats.

Jackson signed with South Georgia after after he was released by the Georgia Force of the Arena Football League.

Matt missed last week's game with Corpus Christi for family reasons but he is back this week and ready to continue his interception streak.

Matt Jackson said "I want to see it go on as long as it can because the more interceptions I get the more our offense has a chance to put points on the board."

The Wildcats have lost their last four games against Wilkes-Barre/Scranton including two here in Albany.

Kickoff for the showdown of the top two AF2 teams is at 7:30 p.m. at the Albany Civic Center on Saturday.
