Albany - - A downtown project that will give you a new place to exercise is moving forward. The Riverfront Trail extension is taking shape.

Right now, you can see a glimpse of the paved trail from the Liberty expressway. It's being extended from 3rd Avenue to the Cleve Cox Landing at Philema Road.

"Imagine a family of give being able to get on their bicycles or scooters and be able to without any traffic ride three or four miles into Downtown Albany, have lunch at one of the facilities there, tour the Riverquarium then ride back home or you can go to Chehaw Park or do the same thing. I think it's a wonderful opportunity," says Greg McCormack.

The next phase will be to connect the trail from Philema Road to Chehaw Park. That should be finished by the end of the year.
