Albany - Saturday's game between the South Georgia Wildcats and Wilkes-Barre Scranton Pioneers will be a number one versus number two showdown.
The unbeaten Pioneers are ranked number one and the 7-2 Wildcats move up to number two in this week's coaches poll and would likely move to number one next week with a win over Wilkes-Barre Saturday.
There is only one player on the Wildcats roster who can say he has played all three seasons in South Georgia.
That player is linebacker-fullback Jason Null.
Null joined the Wildcats in the middle of the 2005 season but suffered a broken leg in the 11th game of the season.
He returned to the Cats last year but was part of the trade that brought quarterback Julian Reese to South Georgia.
Null's third time with the Cats appears to be the charm as he is been a force at linebacker.
A four sport star in high school, Jason didn't attend college which means the AF2 is where he hopes to prove he can play football at higher levels.
Jason Null said"It is the first question that any coach asks you. Where did you play your college ball? It is kind of embarrassing to say I didn't play my college ball and work my way up and get to the next level. Hopefully, getting a ring on my finger will do that."
The Wildcats will try to end Wilkes-Barre's two game winning streak at the Albany Civic Center.
Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday night.
