Tift County-  A Tift County man is charged with kidnapping and faces additional charges after a high speed chase and standoff with police Tuesday in Worth County. 

James "Frankie" Garren had to be taken via stretcher from the Sledge Road mobile home after turning a .22 caliber pistol on himself with a single shot to the stomach.

Garren kidnapped his wife Stacey from her home in TyTy and fired two shots at a Sheriff's Deputy before leading on police on a high speed chase to the Sledge Road home.

Garren is expected to be charged with aggravated assault on a police officer, two counts of aggravated assault, aggravated stalking, burglary, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. Charges will be filed when Garren is released from Tift Regional Hospital.
