Wichita, Ks.- Leesburg's Buster Posey is one of three finalists for the Johnny Bench Award that is presented to best catcher in college baseball.
Posey, who never played the position until this season at Florida State, is the first sophomore to ever be named a finalist for the award.
He batted .382 and led the Seminoles with 65 runs batted in and threw out 41% of base runners who were trying to steal a base.
Georgia Tech's Matt Wieters and Edward Easley of Mississippi State are the other two finalists for the Johnny Bench Award that will be handed out on June 27th in Wichita, Kansas.
