This weekend's rain is helping firefighters control the thousands of acres burning in South Georgia and Florida.
Firefighters were able to relax a little and devote their time to controlling hot spots the rain missed.
They were also able to focus on the areas that already began to dry out that could potentially catch fire again.
With the help of six inches of rain that fell this weekend, the fire is about 85 % contained now.
For people living near the wildfires, smoke is expected to return as the winds shift.
