Albany  --  Congressman Sanford Bishop paid tribute to retired military members, during a lunch at MCLB.  Bishop said America is blessed for the individuals who serve and protect our country.

He said there are simply not enough words to thank veterans for their role in preserving our rights.

Rick Turner, a Navy and Air Force Vet says he appreciates the recognition Bishop gave him today. "We need the support of the Congressman," said Turner.

"These individuals who have given their service, sacrificed over the years to make our country and our military what it is," said Congressman Sanford Bishop.

Retiree recognition ceremonies are held throughout the year at the base to honor veterans.
