Albany-- An Albany mother and son are charged in the accidental shooting of a 14 year old boy Thursday afternoon.

Albany police arrested the 13 year old shooter and 35 year old Katrina Washington.

Washington is charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

The 13 year old is charged with reckless conduct.

Fourteen year old Jamie Laster was shot in the face Thursday afternoon as the two teens were playing with a gun at a duplex on Gardner Drive.

Laster was shot in the jaw and the hand.

"The little boy that got shot, he hardly comes out doors. Our sympathy goes out to his parents and we hope he makes it," says neighbor Tomika Williams.

After the shooting, the teens ran to a house on Rena Avenue and called police and an ambulance.

Laster is recovering at Phoebe. He is listed in good condition.
