Crisp County--  The Resort at Lake Blackshear enjoyed a successful weekend as the busy summer season began.

For much of the weekend, the 80 rooms at the resort were full. Many stayed around today for Memorial Day to enjoy boating, golf and camping. They also have dinner cruises at the marina.

They hoped to have their new restaurant The Grill open for people to enjoy by the Memorial Day holiday but construction delayed the opening a short while.

"We will be open before the 4th and you can see it in the background here, it'll be a waterfront restaurant and it will be a bar and grill type operation," said Marina Manager Ivan Williams.

The new restaurant should be open in about three weeks.
