Thomasville-- A 19 year old who's had cystic fibrosis his entire life, is making it his mission to raise awareness about the illness.   Brian McCandless is riding his bicycle 2000 miles from Pittsburg to Tallahassee, and then back home again.

He made a quick stop in Thomasville today, two days ahead of schedule. With him on the trip are 4 good friends who follow behind him in a van, and occaisionly ride along side him, to help him with his mission.

"I kind of saw that cystic fibrosis isn't something that's very well known and having cystic fibrosis, I just see the importance of awareness and really just getting it out there. It's not something that's advertised like cancer or something like that," says McCandless.

Brian's Ride has not only raised awareness, but its raised thousands of dollars for CF research.  Brian hopes to make it an annual event.
