Albany - Last July, when the South Georgia Wildcats hosted the Bossier City Battle Wings it was matchup of two of the worst teams in the Arena 2 Football League.
The two teams will square off again Saturday night in Bossier City in what is a matchup of two of the top five teams in the league this year.
The big reason for Bossier City's turnaround this year is the addition of former Dallas Cowboys and Georgia quarterback Quincy Carter.
Carter's revivial of his pro football career was off to a great start with 34 touchdown passes in five games.
Carter though was placed on team suspension last week for missing team meetings.
He sat out last week's win against Manchester and cannot play this weeknight against the Wildcats.
No one is more disappointed than the South Georgia defense which had been looking forward to the challenge of playing against a former NFL quarterback.
Defensive back Matt Jackson said "When you face a team, you always want that team to have their best guys on the field. But at the same time whoever is out there you still have to play football and try to win the football game."
Defensive lineman Joe Woolridge said "It is kind of disappointing but whoever back there is going to get the same thing he was going to get."
The Wildcats play at Bossier-Shreveport Saturday night at 8:00pm.
The next home game is June 2nd against Corpus-Christi.
