Albany -- A Terrell County man with active Tuberculosis will be transported to a South Carolina hospital to get the treatment he needs.
An agreement was reached Wednesday between the Terrell County Health Department and the Sheriff's office to transport 41-year-old Michael Greene to South Carolina.
Sheriff John Bowens was ordered to transport Greene in a Sheriff's patrol car, but refused. Bowens said Greene had other medical issues making it a liability for his office to transport Greene six or seven hours.
Under the agreement, a health department employee will accompany the deputy to South Carolina. Neither side was sure when Greene would be transported.
