Albany -- Nearly a week after setting their bedroom on fire, two young Albany boys remain in critical condition.

Seven-year old Dontavious Woods and five year old Dartagan Russ suffered second and third degree burns to 30 percent of their bodies when they ran through flames to escape that fire.

Investigators say the five year old set fire to a mattress Thursday morning.

The fire blocked their escape. The boys' mothers encouraged them to run through the flames to escape.

Because of the severity of their burns, both were flown to Augusta and are being treated at the James M. Still Burn Center at Doctor's Hospital.
