Peanuts bounce back for first home win

May 25, 2007

Albany - The South Georgia Peanuts shook off Thursday's home opening loss to Charlotte County with a 5-2 victory over the Redfish at the Paul Eames Complex.

Starting pitcher Damian Dantibo allowed just one run in seven innings to pick up his second win in as many starts this season.

The Peanuts plated a run in the first inning on a wild pitch.

The Redfish tied it in the third before the Peanuts broke the tie with a sacrfice fly off the bat of Steve Butler in the fourth that scored Tuck Gillingham who led off the frame with a single.

Dantibo then helped his own cause with a single to plate Johnny Washington.

The Peanuts added two big insurance runs in the eighth.

The rubber game of the series is Saturday at 7:10 p.m.

Sunday is an off day for the Peanuts who will continue the homestand Monday against the Anderson Joes.
