Valdosta -- The Lowndes baseball team is back in the Elite Eight, after advancing to the State Semifinals last year.
The Vikings host Kennesaw Mountain Tuesday, but Lowndes head coach Danny Redshaw says the Mustangs remind him of another team.
"The New York Yankees. It's Kennesaw Mountain, and they're loaded. It's going to be quite a challenge for our guys to whip them, but we're going to give it a shot. We're playing at home, and that helps."
Lowndes defeated Kennesaw Mountain in two games in the state quarterfinals last season.
