Albany - It was bound to happen, just didn't think it would be so soon. Gasoline soared to above three dollars a gallon in Albany today. $3.06 at some stations this afternoon and we're talking regular unleaded. At Woodall's, it was a penny less, but that was no break to Carlton Harris.
He says he plans to rent a small car to get better gas mileage. He said, "I just picked my truck up out of the shop. I'm going to go rent a car now, the prices are so high."
"It's something that we have to have. If we don't, we'll have to walk," said Carl Lubrin. Just yesterday, the average price for regular unleaded in Albany was $2.89, a month ago, the average was $2.76.
