Farmers water any way they can

May 17, 2007

Lee County-- The extreme drought conditions have even forced small farmers to get water to their crops by some unconventional means.

This small area of crop land along Philema road in Lee County is being watered from a fire hydrant across from the Red Bone Fire Station. This watering method is allowed at this location, because the system running it has a meter that tracks water its usage. Just another reminder, of how critical of a situation farmers are faced with so far this season.
