Albany -- Albany Police and First Responders squared off today in some delicious competition. The Fourth Annual Law Enforcement Public Safety Cook Off decided who was the best with a grill.

Six teams of Police Officers and Public Safety groups had a grill off Wednesday. The teams started at five in the morning, grilling chicken, ribs, and hot wings. It was some hot action over a hot grill, but good fun for these men and women who protect the community.

The Four- R Bar- B-Que team is the two time defending champion.  Albany Police Lt. Ryan Ward said "it's all for a good cause. Friendship, camaraderie. But of course, as I can tell you, we're the grand champions back to back."

But they did not make it a three peat.  A team of A.D.D.U. drug agents and a team of Dougherty County Sheriff's Deputies were named co-grand champions, finishing in a tie.  Celebrity judges were brought in to decide which team grilled the best tasting food in each category.

The apron that Jack Camp wore in all these competitions was hung remembering him. Camp was killed in East Albany when Police believe he interrupted a drug deal.
