Albany-  The Albany Area Chamber of Commerce continues their search for tenants for Albany and Dougherty County's empty or soon to be empty industrial facilities.

The former Bob's Candies plant is still vacant more than a year after the company closed it's doors. Merck also hasn't found a new tenant for their building that will be vacated later this year. The Albany Chamber continues to send out mailing to prospective businesses including the bio-technical industry and while many have expressed interest, no one has made a serious offer. Chamber President Tim Martin remains optimistic.

"We're hopeful and in fact confident that something will come together. Albany is a strong community, strong economically, with a great work force and transportation access and as we continue to tell our story we're going to see success move this direction," said Tim Martin, Albany Area Chamber of Commerce President.

Over the weekend, an unnamed company, came to Albany to tour the closed Delphi plant.
