Albany-  Albany and Dougherty County businesses paid tribute to local troops Wednesday with the annual Military Breakfast hosted by the Chamber of Commerce.

Marines from MCLB joined with businesses leader to pay tribute to south Georgia's troops.  During the breakfast the Chamber named its NCO and Marine of the Quarter. Corporal Albert Scott who was sick and couldn't attend was name NCO of the Quarter and Lance Corporal Moroni Aguilar was honored as Marine of the Quarter. With the continuing war in Iraq, the ceremony emphasized the important of the nations military.

"People realize the sacrifices that the Marines and all the soldiers, seamen, and airmen are making for their country and it does create an awareness of our military and what they do for us," said Leland Burkart, Military Affairs Committee Chairman for the Chamber of Commerce.

For the last 50 years, the chamber has honored south Georgia's military members with the annual breakfast.
