Americus - Georgia State University is the second biggest public university in the state.
But is it big enough to support a football team?
The man Georgia State has hired to find the answer is Americus native and former NFL head coach Dan Reeves.
Reeves says his job is very simple.
Get alumni, students and others excited about Georgia State football.
Dan Reeves said "There is no question they can have a football program and have a great program. But it is all about finances. And we have got to get people excited about it and willing to put the money up."
Georgia State has done a feasibility study that has determined it would cost $7.8 million to start a football program and $6 million a year to maintain it.
