Valdosta - Colonel Joseph Callahan has been an important part of Moody Air Force Base and the Lowndes County Community for three years.

In a ceremony this morning, he said goodbye to the airmen he's commanded and passed the flag over to the newest commander of Team Moody, Colonel Kenn Todorov.

Colonel Todorov will now assume all duties as Commander of the 23rd Wing.

He says he has big shoes to fill but there's no other group in the military he'd rather lead.  "A great group of airmen. 62 hundred people. It's a big undertaking. But I'll have great commanders, great group commanders, great squad commanders, and just great airmen across the board that are going to help us continue to succeed," he says.

Colonel Callahan will be reassigned to Langley Air Force Base in Virginia.
