Albany - Sherwood Christian pitcher Jason Townsend is taking his blazing fastball to Chipola Junior College.
The hard throwing right hander signing his scholarship Thursday afternoon at Sherwood Christian Academy.
Jason Townsend is a two time GISA all-state pitcher whose fastball has been clocked over 90 miles per hour.
He has struck out more than 200 batters in his last two seasons with the Eagles and his earned run average this spring was .092.
Chipola just won the Florida Junior College title and Townsend says their tradition is a big reason why he will be pitching in Marianna, Florida next year.
Jason Townsend said "Alot of their pitchers go pro and to the next level. That is real encouraging to me to get better. And to see everyone else who is coming up through the program get better."
Jason Townsend will play this summer will play for Albany Post 30's American Legion team.
