Thomasville-- The board asked John Everett to fill the unexpired term of former board vice chairman Rick Ivey.

Everett himself attended Thomasville City Schools while growing up. He's now senior Vice President of Commercial Bank.

"I've certainly enjoyed my tenure as a banker and one of the things bankers get an opportunity to do is to serve the community and I take a lot of pride in that, I enjoy doing it and I have a long track record of it. So I'm involved in numerous other organizations but certainly this as important as any and I will dedicate as much time as possible to fulfilling my duty," says Everett.

He plans to run for election for a full term in November.  Ivey resigned the position in March.
