Colquitt County-  Nearly a dozen wildfires set in Colquitt County over the weekend are considered suspicious.

The Georgia Forestry Commission in Moultrie responded to 11 fires set Saturday around the Colquitt County, Worth County line near Doerun.  The fires occurred on Evergreen Road, Tickner Road, and Highway 202.

"We have had some suspicious fires set in the Doerun area Saturday. There was 11 set. They burnt approximately in total 15 acres and we're still looking into the possibility that maybe they were set," said Denny Sellers, Chief Ranger Georgia Forestry Commission.

If you've burned recently, the Georgia Forestry Commission urges you to watch the area closely for potential re-burns. They've also canceled all burn permits because conditions are so dry.
