Albany -- A plea agreement was reached Monday in an Albany homicide.
Murder charges against an Albany woman who hit a man over the head with a gin bottle are dropped, but she pleads guilty to aggravated assault. 41-year old Lawanda Dawson will be sentenced later.
Last June 16th, Dawson hit Alfred Sutton in the head with a gin bottle at his home on Cordele Road. He died later the next day. The autopsy showed Sutton died of asphyxiation after he collapsed in the bathtub.
Dawson could face one to 20 years in prison for aggravated assault.
